Have power cycled the switch after connecting the serial cable, no response. With your cable connected cold boot the switch and you should see the POST routine. I connect to through Putty, but all I get is unreadable characters. From searching in the internet, it looks like the encoding might not be the right one. Does anyone know what are the character encoding settings? Or maybe, any other idea? I try pressing Ctrl-C, then I, then A, all those without knowing what is displayed, but nothing happens.
I Have 4 ERS gts switches. Is there any way to access these switches through java device manager? Follow these steps: Connect to the console port of the switch ,8,N,1 Reboot the switch. The system then displays a menu. Upon boot up, the switch will be in a factory default configuration. Good Luck! No problem, much appreciate the help on the null cable. Great web site. Thanks, Geoff. The power cord must always be connected in a location that can be accessed quickly and safely in case of an emergency. In these examples, the packet classification feature can be used to prioritize the traffic of the network to ensure uninterrupted traffic of critical applications.
Ethernet Switch and Ethernet Switch are also shown in this example of a high-density switched workgroup. In case of cable or unit failure, all units of the stack begin to work as standalone switches. However, the stack is automatically formed again once the missing cable is re-inserted or the faulty unit is replaced. Page Stack Mac Address Chapter 1 About Ethernet Switches and For example, when you initially power up the stack, the base unit becomes unit 1 and the unit that the base unit connects to becomes unit 2 and the next unit is unit 3 and so on , until the maximum stack configuration up to 8 units is reached.
Page Stack Configurations Chapter 1 About Ethernet Switches and Stack configurations As shown in Figure 16, the cable connectors provide the ability to stack up to eight switches.
